Built by someone who spends his days inside a nonprofit budget
Our school's fundraising committee was paying a vendor far more than the product was worth. A donation page, a roster, and a report at the end of the drive. That's the whole job. The invoice didn't look like it.
I've spent fourteen years building software for an early childhood nonprofit, which means I've spent fourteen years building it on a small budget. I know what a drive like that means to a school. Whatever the platform takes comes out of whatever the drive was for: a field trip, a set of classroom books, new playground equipment.
So I built the committee a replacement. First for the Fall Fun Run at our school, then for the school across town that asked to borrow it.
That's still the design brief. Simple software should be affordable, and it should be simple to run. Setup takes one sitting. There's no training session, no manual, and nothing to configure twice.
The people running your drive are parents with day jobs. This shouldn't cost them an evening, and it shouldn't keep them up late.
What your school gets
Assigned once and never changed, so a slip printed in week one still works in week four — even if the student changes classrooms.
Public thermometers by classroom, so the friendly rivalry that actually drives a drive has something to point at.
Every student who has received a gift so far stays in the hat, seven days a week. It runs itself overnight and each student can win once per campaign.
Issued from your school's own legal name and tax ID, on a private link the donor can print. Never a placeholder.
A donor who asks to give anonymously stays off the donor wall. Per-gift amounts are never public for anyone.
Card payments run through Stripe Checkout — we never touch card details, and no cash comes back through the school office.
How a drive runs
- 1Upload your roster
A CSV from your student information system. Every student gets a page and a printable link the same afternoon.
- 2Send the slips home
Families forward their child's link to whoever they'd have asked for a cheque. Giving takes about a minute on a phone.
- 3Watch it come in
Totals update as gifts land. Staff see who gave what; the public page shows the thermometer and a donor wall of people who chose to be named.
- 4Close the books
Close the campaign, export the donation list, and start a fresh one next year without last year's numbers tangled up in it.
